  • April 19th, 2024 || Meet the Industry Professional - The chapter is hosting an event 'Meet the Industry Professional', where participants will be able to interact with Dr. Adewale Adeosun. This event will provide an insight on the important skills to pick up in grauduate school, how such skills translate to work in an industrial setting. Dr. Adeosun works as a Senior Process Engineer with Intel Corporation.   • February 22nd, 2024 || EWeek - Materials Synthesis Workshop - On the occasion of National Engineers Week (EWeek), the Chapter iorganized a Materials Synthesis workshop "Syntho-matrix". Students were given a demonstration on the concepts of synthesis and synthesized particles themselves. 
  • January 2024 ||  3MR and Poster Presentation - The Chapter organized a 3MR and Poster Presentation competition at the 2nd annual CAST workshop. Participants presented their exciting research in the areas of nanotechnology, public health, atmospheric aerosols, bioaerosols, and low cost sensors.
  • November 2023 || Student lecture series - The Chapter organized its first student chapter lecture series. Chapter member Onochie Okonkwo presented his recently published work on the Development of a Hybrid Machine-Learning Aerosol Dynamics Model.
  • September 2023 || AAAR student chapter meet and greet - The Chapter organized a meet and greet event on September 16th at the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science in downtown Miami. 
  • August 2023 || AAAR student chapter E-Board elections - The University of Miami AAAR Student Chapter elected its chapter representatives for the year 2023-2024. Get familiarized with your representatives here
  • April 2023 || AAAR Lecture Series -The University of Miami AAAR Student Chapter hosted the AAAR Lecture Series that was presented by Una Trivanovic,  PhD Candidate at the Particle Technology Laboratory at ETH Zürich supervised by Prof. Sotiris Pratsinis on the topic: High throughput generation of aircraft like soot.   • January 2023 || Poster session at Miami Workshop - The student chapter organized a vibrant poster session along with the Center for Aerosol Science and Technology faculty. Students and postdocs had the opportunity to interact with leading researchers and discuss the results of their research in a two-day annual Miami workshop on Aerosol Science and Technology organized by Center for aerosol science and technology at the University of Miami in January 2023.   • January 2023 || Science outreach - The chapter conducted a science outreach program in schools in India on air pollution health effects and measures to reduce the exposure to air pollution. The students gained knowledge about wearable particulate matter sensors via hands on session, particulate matter, the good and the bad aerosols, sources of particulate matter in the environment, importance of discussing the topic, measures to reduce exposure to particulate matter on individual, local and global scale. Overall, 200 students attended the science outreach program. 
  • July 2022 || AAAR Lecture Series -The University of Miami AAAR Student Chapter hosted the AAAR Lecture Series that was presented by Dr. Andy May, Associate Professor at Ohio State University in the Department of Chemical and Geodetic Engineering on the topic: Laboratory Evaluation of the Effects of Particle Size and Composition on the Performance of Integrated Devices Containing Plantower Particle Sensors. The lecture was attended by more than 150 attendees with a great question and answer session following the presentation. The recording of the lecture can be viewed here.
